This is Varanasi condensed into one complete day — the boat ride at first light, a walk along the ghats while the city wakes up, darshan at Kashi Vishwanath, a break through the heat of the afternoon, and the evening Ganga Aarti to close it out. It’s a good fit for a stopover, a weekend visit, or as an add-on day at the start or end of one of our longer circuits.
5:30 AM — Assi Ghat Arrival at Assi Ghat, the southernmost of the city’s ghats, just as the sky starts to lighten.
5:45 AM — Sunrise Boat Ride Out on the water as the sun comes up over the Ganga — the classic Varanasi view, and best seen before the ghats fill up.
6:30 AM — Morning Ritual on the Ghats Time on the steps to watch the daily bathing rituals that have carried on here, unchanged, for generations.
7:15 AM — Walking the Ghats A guided walk linking several ghats on foot, taking in the city’s early-morning rhythm.
8:30 AM — Breakfast Break A pause to eat before the temple visits begin.
9:30 AM — Kashi Vishwanath Darshan Assisted entry and darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of Lord Shiva’s twelve Jyotirlingas and the spiritual heart of the city.
11:00 AM — Further Temple Visits On to a few more of Varanasi’s significant temples nearby.
1:00 PM — Lunch & Rest A longer break through the warmest hours — lunch, and time to rest before the evening session.
4:30 PM — Evening Session Begins Regroup as the city’s pace picks up again in the late afternoon.
5:00 PM — Heritage Walk A second walk, this time through the old city’s lanes and markets as evening sets in.
6:30 PM — Ganga Aarti The day closes with the evening Ganga Aarti — fire, chanting, and the ghats at their fullest.
8:00 PM — Drop-off Return transfer, tour ends.
